Toggle switches are classified into two types: low-current toggle switches and high-current toggle switches. Low-current toggle switches are commonly used in electronic toys and digital communications. High-current toggle switches are generally used in electrical appliances and machinery.
Toggle switches are widely used in various instruments/meters, electric toys, fax machines, audio equipment, medical equipment, beauty equipment, and other electronic products.
Simply put, a toggle switch connects or disconnects a circuit by moving its actuator (switch handle). It features flexible slider action and stable and reliable performance, and is widely used in electrical appliances, machinery, communications, digital audio-visual systems, building automation, and electronic products.

High-Current Sealed Toggle Switch
This type has a rated current up to 5A and is sealed with epoxy resin, hence it is classified as a high-current sealed toggle switch. It has various terminal types and contact materials including silver-plated and gold-plated, offering diverse switching functions. Therefore, there are many subcategories within this type. It is widely used in electrical appliances and machinery.
Single-sided spring-loaded surface-mount toggle switch: The actuator operates on the side, and the leads are surface-mount, hence it is a single-sided spring-loaded surface-mount toggle switch. Widely used in communications and digital audio-visual applications.
4P3T through-hole toggle switch: The contact type is 4P3T, and the leads are through-hole. Therefore, it is a 4P3T through-hole toggle switch. The 4P3T designation results in 8 pairs of leads, along with two pairs of supports for support, fixation, and grounding. Widely used in building automation and electronic products.
Long-actuator top-mount toggle switch: The actuator is 12mm and located at the top of the switch, hence it is a long-actuator top-mount toggle switch. Widely used in digital audio-visual applications and various instruments/meters.
