Structure Of A Toggle Switch

A toggle switch connects or disconnects a circuit by moving a switch handle, thus switching the circuit. Many people have seen the appearance, shape, and pin configuration of toggle switches, but their internal structure is rarely seen because most people haven't disassembled them. Toggle switches come in one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and eight positions; and in single-row, double-row, and triple-row configurations. Regardless of whether it's a horizontal handle, a vertical handle, or a miniature model, the internal structure is largely the same. Metal-cased toggle switches are divided into three types: rubber, ball bearing, and spring-loaded. Spring-loaded toggle switches have the longest lifespan, best feel, and highest price; rubber toggle switches are cheaper, simpler, and easier to manufacture; ball bearing toggle switches are a mid-range option.

1. The outer casing is made of nickel-plated iron (salt spray 12-24 hours).

2. The handle is made of plastic (materials include POM, PPA, and PBT).

3. The chip is made of silver-plated phosphor bronze (contact resistance can be below 30 milliohms).

4. The terminal blocks are made of silver-plated brass.

5. The base plate is made of PCB board.

6. The spring is made of high-performance spring imported from Japan.

7. The adhesive is made of heat-resistant red sealant.

8. The ball is made of stainless steel. The internal structure of a miniature toggle switch is roughly the same as that of a regular toggle switch, only the form is different. It also has many unique features. For example, compared to other switches, it has a more flexible slider movement, meaning its switching speed is very fast. As we know, if a switch is pressed but the slider is not flexible enough to turn off the power in time, it may cause unnecessary trouble. It also has stable performance, meaning it is very stable during use and will not experience minor malfunctions or problems.
